The new Cathedral required the design of 0.5 miles of new location roadway including a roundabout, multi-modal accommodations and signal designs.
Three owners (City of Raleigh, NCSU and Diocese of Raleigh) required excellent communication and design alternatives to meet the needs of each owner while installing a critical connection to the transportation
Proposed roadway split the property lines between the Diocese of Raleigh and NCSU’s property and provided multi-modal alternatives for the end user.
Provided a critical connection between NCSU Main Campus and NCSU Centennial Campus which reduced vehicular and bus travel times.
RKA served as the Prime engineering in charge of the traffic analysis and design efforts for this new location roadway.
