RKA has promoted Stephen Green, PE to Chief Executive Officer. He succeeds previous CEO Montell Irvin, PE, PTOE who recently announced his official retirement from RKA.

For the past 18 years, Mr. Greene has effectively served his clients on a variety of transportation consulting projects. Stephen was promoted to Chief Operating Officer in 2017 where he oversaw internal processes that improved how RKA was able to serve its clients. Mr. Greene was then promoted to President in May 2022 and will now assume the role of CEO upon Monty’s retirement.

Stephen has over 30 years of experience in the fields of construction administration, construction management, construction inspection, transportation planning, and leadership.

He has held positions in every facet of construction administration and construction inspection. Mr. Greene has prepared Federal and State environmental documents (EA/FONSI, and CE’s), traffic studies, interchange modification justification reports, and much more.

Mr. Greene is currently a Board Member of the American Council of Engineering Companies in North Carolina. With 10 years of leadership experience in the non-profit sector, Stephen has led organizations ranging in size from 25 to 1,000 people.

On behalf of the Board of Directors and Monty Irvin, PE, PTOE, this promotion will strengthen and support RKA’s strategic plan to expand the firm and its services across NC, SC, and VA. Monty Irvin is confident about the trajectory of RKA under Stephen’s leadership and Mr. Greene is excited about this new chapter in his career.
