He will be presenting alongside RKA’s client, Mr. David Hooper, the administrator of Rock Hill-Fort Mill Area Transportation Study (RFATS) Collector Street Plan. Together, they developed the first collector street plan for an MPO in the state of South Carolina, and they are excited to share their experience with you.
RKA was selected by the RFATS Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) to provide transportation planning and traffic engineering services for the first collector street plan for an MPO in SC. RKA developed an understanding and inventory of the existing collector street network, identified growth patterns and projected development, and engaged the public and local stakeholders. The plan incorporates projects currently programmed and the identification of environmental features was also part of the project.
RKA worked with RFATS and the six stakeholder municipalities to develop a consensus for the overall direction and goals of the collector street plan. In conjunction with RFATS, RKA held public workshops for each of the stakeholders to receive input for the overall plan. Mr. Henderson will be sharing more about this project in his presentation at the conference in April.
